The Ganja.com Cannabis Price Index for August 2026 is out. Across 26 major U.S. markets, the median price of an eighth of cannabis is about $32. That is unchanged from July.
The cheapest markets this month are Denver, CO ($20), Detroit, MI ($18), Oklahoma City, OK ($13). The most expensive are Oakland, CA ($40), Chicago, IL ($45), Minneapolis, MN ($50). The full breakdown by city and product, including gram, ounce, vape, concentrate, and edible prices, is published free at ganja.com/cannabis-prices.
Every figure is the median of a sample of public dispensary menu prices, pre-tax, refreshed monthly with sample sizes shown. The full dataset is openly licensed and free to cite: JSON and CSV under CC-BY-4.0.
“Nobody was publishing an honest, current answer to what cannabis actually costs, so we did,” said a Ganja.com spokesperson. “It is free, it shows its math, and anyone can cite it.”
