Cannabis tourism has grown from a novelty into a real travel category. Travelers plan trips around dispensaries, consumption lounges, cannabis-friendly lodging, and tours, from legal US states to Amsterdam, Bangkok, and Kingston, and an entire service industry has grown up to meet them.

What that industry has never had is the obvious address. 420Travel.com, now listed for sale, is the exact-match name for the category: two words every cannabis tourist already knows, on a dot-com.

The domain suits a booking platform, a tour operator rolling up city experiences, a travel publisher, or a brand play by an existing travel company positioning for federal rescheduling. Because mainstream travel platforms decline cannabis advertising, an owned, category-defining domain does the work that ad budgets cannot.

“Travel is one of the few cannabis categories where the customer is already in a spending mood,” said a spokesperson for Name Brand Management, LLC, which listed the domain. “420Travel.com is the name a tourist would guess. That is what a category domain is.”
